Crossing boundaries, moving towards a diverse future
With the continuous transformation of the economic and political situations in the West, global business education is gradually shifting eastward.
In recent years, the postgraduate diploma and master“s programs of the Business School of the Chinese University of Hong Kong have attracted an increasing number of international students from all over the world. They not only value the college“s rigorous academic standards and extensive industry connections but are also attracted by Hong Kong“s strategic position in Asia“s economic transformation. At the same time, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region actively promotes the brand of “Study in Hong Kong“. By increasing scholarships and providing various forms of support, it offers a friendly learning environment for talents from around the world, further attracting them to Hong Kong. Students can be grounded in the best international practical experience and personally participate in the prosperous future of Asia.
“A Bridge Connecting the East and the West”
“I chose Asia and the Business School of the Chinese University of Hong Kong because of the college“s international reputation and the opportunities brought about by cross-regional development.” After completing his undergraduate studies in London, Erlend Rivenes Hagen, a Norwegian student, is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Real Estate at the Business School of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Erlend, who is engaged in the construction industry, hopes to gain a deeper understanding of international real estate investment and the business operation model in China and establish a professional network in Asia. “The teaching team has rich industry experience, and the close connections between the college and major enterprises allow me to directly observe how global strategies are adjusted to adapt to the local environment. This is crucial for my goal of building an international real estate career.”

Zoe Roge from France is currently studying for a Master of Science in Finance. She has studied at EDHEC Business School in France, the University of California, Los Angeles in the United States, and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. During her studies in Singapore, Zoe developed a strong interest in the Asian financial market and later decided to pursue further studies in Hong Kong. “The rapid development of this region and its growing influence on the global financial stage are the reasons that attracted me to Hong Kong.”
Zoe is funded by the “Anita Fung Yuen Mei Financial Scholarship” to study in Hong Kong. As part of the program, she is also involved in research at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. She said, “Hong Kong and the Business School of the Chinese University of Hong Kong provide an ideal platform for me to deepen my professional knowledge and personally understand how Asian and international enterprises cooperate. These experiences will be extremely valuable no matter where I work in the financial field in the future.”

“Emphasizing Both Academics and Practice”
Although the geographical advantages and international business environment of Hong Kong are important, when making the final decision to study in Hong Kong, several students mentioned the experiential learning model of the Business School of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, which integrates academic theory and practical application.
Oleksandra Medved, a Ukrainian student, previously moved to the Czech Republic and studied for an undergraduate degree in Prague. During that period, she came to the Chinese University of Hong Kong for an exchange semester, which allowed her to personally experience the learning model here. “Different from the more theory-oriented teaching methods I have encountered in the past, the teaching at the Chinese University of Hong Kong emphasizes practical cases and group discussions.” She recalled, “This learning method that emphasizes solving practical problems makes it easy for me to engage and is quite effective, which prompted me to return to the Business School of the Chinese University of Hong Kong to pursue a Master of Science in Business Analytics. I believe this program will enable me to calmly face the changing world and create a meaningful career.”

Ariel Migliorini Mercado from Brazil was also attracted by this teaching model. After completing his undergraduate degree in Global Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, he is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Sustainable Global Business. “I come from a social science background and am used to discussing theories.” Ariel said, “Now I hope to transform my knowledge into practical strategies. This program emphasizes experiential learning and collaboration, combining academic strength and industry experience, making the entire program more practical and multi-faceted. It can not only build on my humanities background but also inspire my analytical skills and problem-solving thinking.”

“Connecting Today“s Market with Tomorrow“s Industry”
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, one of the most economically vibrant regions in the world,开拓 another dimension for the learning experience. This year, the combined GDP of the 11 cities in the Greater Bay Area will exceed 14 trillion yuan. Students can get up close to the markets and innovation opportunities that are reshaping the global business landscape. For international students, this geographical advantage not only allows them to observe but also actively participate.
